BODY CONTROL ASSOCIATION

Lynne Robinson and Gordon Thomson set up the Body Control Pilates Association in 1996.  It is widely seen as Europe's leading professional body for Pilates teachers. The Association embraces the following components as an integral part of its approach:

v      Progressive exercises – exercises advance with each subsequent class/session.

v      Client assessment - All clients are required to complete an enrolment form before joining a class or session. This enables the instructor to ascertain their suitability for the class, develop an individual programme or where appropriate to liaise with the client’s practitioner after obtaining permission.

v      Class size limits – Maximum of 12

v      Code of practice - all instructors have signed a Code of Practice governing teaching standards and professional ethics and must hold up-to-date insurance.

v      Continued development - the Association offers numerous training courses and qualified instructors are encouraged to constantly expand and develop their skills and knowledge.
