Ellie has always been a great advocate of stretching and she is excited to introduce Janos and his stretch therapy workshop to Greenwich.
Janos Bene is one of only two ‘Stretch Therapy’ ™ instructors practicing in the UK and has had his extensive training in Vancouver, Canada and Piacenza, Italy by the innovator of the stretch therapy technique, Kit Laughlin.
When Janos first heard about a program of stretching, taught at the Australian National University, he decided to see if it offered a more systematic and more widely applicable approach. It offered that and infinitely more.
The technique itself is an advanced form of PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) which is called contract/release. This technique allows the muscles to stretch and then relax in a way that most people have never experienced. This can be applied to all muscles and muscle groups in the body, literally from head to toe, using ingenious poses and partner stretches.
Stretching is fundamental to all sporting and exercise techniques; running, cycling, rowing, yoga, Pilates…..you name it and stretching is required for all these activities. Not just any stretching – there really is a correct way and by ‘correct’ we mean effective.
During and after a stretch therapy class you will notice a relaxation and a strengthening in your muscles that your will have never felt before.
